Drain-Sleeve®
Drain-Sleeve® filter fabrics are specifically designed to cover perforated pipes that are being used in underground drainage systems to prevent fine silts and sandy soils from entering into and eventually clogging the drain tile. Drain-Sleeve® can be used in any soil condition for an added level of protection against drainage system failures.
Like the original Sock™ filter, it is seamless and completely envelopes perforated pipes of all types, including corrugated polyethylene, PVC, steel and aluminum. There are no seams to sew or glue required making installation quick and easy.
Once installed, Drain-Sleeve® filter fabrics will allow very fine soil particles to pass through the fabric and into the pipe to be flushed out with the flow of the water. This leaves behind the larger soil particles which bridge against each other creating void spaces at the interface of the fabric and the soil. In doing so, the permeability of the soil immediately surrounding the perforated tubing is increased to enhance the performance of the drainage system.
Drain-Sleeve® filter fabrics are available to fit 3” (75mm), 4” (100mm) and 6” (150mm) diameter, perforated drainage pipes in packages of 10’ (3m) or 100’ (30m) making them ideal for use by small contractors or the Do It Yourself market . It is easily cut using scissors so you can use what you need and save the rest for your next project. Drain-Sleeve® filter fabrics are ideally suited for use in all types of underground drainage systems including: Foundation Drains, Garden and Flowerbed Drains, Landscape Drains, Driveway and Roadway Drains, Sports Field Drains, Agricultural Land Drains or anywhere that subsurface drainage systems are installed.
The larger 100’ (30m) packages are available in rolls or are now available with Carriff’s patented Preload product, making installation of larger quantities a snap.
